Learning a New Language: an #eLearning #CaseStudy

In the IT world, education, or eLearning, generally refers to using hardware, software, and other digital means to teach students and other learners in and out of the classroom. eLearning can come in a variety of forms. It can be on a website, a cellphone, or a tablet; the ways you can teach students are as varied as the ways you can use the internet. But learning is hard; math, science, history, and the arts each demand a specific medium to learn to maximum learning potential.

🇪🇸 Our client was a language startup, co-founded by a tech entrepreneur and a Spanish teacher. They made high-quality apps for teachers and language learners of all ages. Each app combined custom graphics and native audio into a fully-integrated system to help students learn and memorize thousands of new words. However, to get to that stage, they needed our help first. They needed us to build a framework that the backend would then use to edit application contents.

So we did just that.

The #Framework we built did the following:

📱 The app was accessible on Tablet (#iOS and #Android) and #MAC OS.

🔤 Users could build bilingual and monolingual cards from content images.

🙋 Assessment questions and learning reports were available.

💬 A custom, miniature version with limited features was also made available.

At the technical level:

✅ We used a .NET framework for editors to compose content in a WYSIWYG style to export it to XML.

✅ At the Frontend, we used MAX, iOS, and Android native frameworks to help the UI look professional while being easy to use.

✅ Using XML, we made all content and images able to be stored within the app’s database as we built it.

🌍 The result helped propel the customer to success. With a sturdy framework to teach Spanish, the customer went on to create and publish 50+ new #Apps on both the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Not only that, but they were able to expand into other languages like French, Portuguese, Chinese, and Hebrew. They established themselves as a worldwide company capable of delivering good quality education to their customers.
