The client is a startup company from France providing battery saving applications for desktops, tablets and mobile devices.
Description:The customer would like to develop an Android application to save the device battery. The application would provide some saving profiles as well as allow user to customize the profile to fit with their needs. The application would control the wifi, mobile data and bluetooth connections automatically. Besides, user can use the app as an utility to control device's memory and CPU speed. This will help to improve the device performance and save the battery.
Technical Solution:We developed the application using all of Android SDK to control all the connections to make sure it can be compatible on most of Android devices and versions. Sometimes, we need to use different API to make it run well on some specific Android versions (2.x) but in general the application is optimized and run on all kinds of Android devices. With the CPU speed control, we use the CPU Governors mode which supported by Linux kernel for dynamical adjusting the CPU frequency. This feature required the root privilege of the device.
Achievement:We completed a turn-key application from the scratch within only 6 months. Our scope of work included develop the detail requirement, architect design, UI/UX design, implementation, testing, deployment to Google play store and technical support.
